Dissertation & Thesis Coaching

Dissertation coaching for Ed.D. and Ph.D. students in education. A dissertation stalls for a handful of predictable reasons: a research question that the design does not answer, committee feedback that arrives faster than it can be acted on, or no one checking in between meetings with your chair. I provide that structure, personally, from proposal through defense, by video wherever you are.

I hold an Ed.D. from UCLA and have spent close to three decades in education research and practice, including work at UCLA Center X, curriculum leadership at Pearson, and co-founding College Bridge. I know what a defense committee reviews, and I know how to move a stalled draft forward.

What coaching covers

  • Alignment of your research question, design, and analysis, so each chapter answers the question the previous one asked

  • Revisions in response to committee feedback, sequenced so changes resolve comments instead of generating new ones

  • APA 7 editing at the sentence, citation, and structural level

  • Chapter-by-chapter work on your actual timeline

  • Defense preparation: anticipating questions and rehearsing responses

Who this is for

Ed.D. and Ph.D. students in education (K-12, higher education, educational leadership, and related fields) who are at the proposal, mid-draft, or revision stage and want sustained one-on-one accountability rather than a single editing pass. I work with a limited number of students at a time.

FAQ

Do you write any part of the dissertation for me?

No. I coach structure, argument, and revision. The research and writing are yours; my role is making sure the work reflects your thinking as clearly and rigorously as possible.

I'm stuck between chapters and my advisor is slow to respond. Can you help with that specifically?

Yes, that's one of the most common reasons candidates come to me. I can review your latest chapter and committee notes and help you plan the next concrete step.

Do you work with candidates outside Florida?

Yes. Coaching is delivered by video to candidates nationwide.
